1. Sample the color you want to base a grey off of
2. get rid of the saturation and brightness, setting both to 0. Creating a grey with the same hue of the originally picked color
3. add brightness back in, to choose the darkness or lightness of grey you need
4. add saturation back in to give gradually bleed in the original colour to the grey
